Just had DS weighed as part of some tests - he's 21 months old, weighs 13.2kg and is 83cm tall. They said he's a 'sturdy' boy but didn't say it was a problem at all - this was a consultant, then we saw another doctor who also checked his stats and didn't red flag it with me either. I came home and thought I'd plot it on his red book chart as he hasn't been weighed for ages and he's just under the 91st percentile and between 25th and 50th for height.
That doesn't seem right to me?! He's very broad and stocky but doesn't actually have much fat on him, squishy legs and arms but his torso (aside from toddler belly) isn't chunk rolls or anything and you can see his ribs when he's reaching and moving about.
He's just started getting more active - he's been walking for ages but preferred the pram and always prefers the swings in the park but has recently started coming for a walk with me as he loves his new reins and running about the house and garden.
The doctor just commented that he's probably in a growth spurt (his feet have just gone up a size) and he will most likely even out by the time he's 2 but it's made me a bit worried I'm feeding him too much!
