DSD hacked on moviestarplanet

DSD is 11 but a bit young for her age.

She's had the account on the game for just over a year. She spent her birthday money on a years 'VIP', which was £65!! and just recently ran out. I've looked into it and for those who don't know 'VIP' is some social status thing on the game, which enabled her to access the 'VIP' chatroom, buy exclusive items, a prettier face, etc.

DSD says she didn't give her password to the person and that the person just told her she was going to hack her account, but what I think's happened is that DSD has given her password and doesn't want to admit to it, and was desperate for another round of VIP.

DSD has a seperate account she is friends with her hacked account on and could see her hacked account sending 'greets' to the theifs account, costing her her virtual currency that she spent real money on.

The 'hacker' has taken most of her virtual characters clothes, changed her outfit so that she's wearing almost nothing.

DSD has been crying about having lost her friends on the account, and her virtual currency and items. I know it doesn't really matter, but it's a big deal to her.

Thought I'd send an email, but I've got some friends who've, turns out, had the same problem with their dc and they'd thrown out the bank statements and reciepts so couldn't prove they'd bought it, so the game wouldn't give back the accounts for security reasons.

Does anyone else have children who play this game who can advise on how to get the account back or does she need to let it go?

MSP was notorious for this problem years ago. It's a shame it's still happening.

Some of my DDs friends were hacked. Nothing could be done unfortunately at the time.

Good luck.

I don’t know the game but a few years ago my ds had the same issue on clash of clans. I managed to prove it was his account using iTunes as it showed we originally downloaded the game on the date the account was set up. If she is on apple that might be an option. You need to do it on a pc though.

@afolnerd

I'm not sure how it works. DSD had bought the VIP in-game and not through the iTunes store.

update: My DSD sent a message to the hacker through another account telling them to give it back. The 'hacker' has threatened to delete the account unless we get her VIP on the account she used to 'hack' my DSD. This is ridiculous. Obviously we wont be doing that but can this really be the only way?

Is there 2 step login. I know it doesn’t help just now but might in the future. I had an issue with DD giving her Roblox password to a girl in school and not letting her back in. She didn’t realise I could immediately changed the password from a reset link and changed to 2 step login.
I told DD with 2 step all logins would have to go through my email and stopped her sharing passwords.

Have you tried contacting the admins on the contact us section and telling them the account has been hacked?

Afolnerd · 05/08/2021 17:12

Yeah my ds had bought stuff in game too, but the admins could see that we downloaded the game from iTunes the same day the the account was set up, so they were happy that we were the original owners of the account and kicked this other kid off. Then they set his account back to the day before he lost access. So he got all his credit back. In your case I would be sending screenshots of what the hacker is sending you to the admins as well.
