Day trip to St Albans

Could any MNers who live nearby advise if the Roman Museum would be of interest to a 15 year old (who is doing Classical Civilization GCSE, albeit without much enthusiasm!), or is it aimed at younger ones. I last went there with the 15 year old when he was about 5 but don’t remember much about it.

Any recommendations of somewhere nice for lunch would be most welcome too.

We’re 2 hours drive away so trying to decide if it’s worth the trip or not. I used to live there 20 odd years ago so it’s a bit of a trip down memory lane for me.

It’s quite small but not especially aimed at younger children. I think it’s worth a visit. I find the walls and hypocaust in the park more impressive.

For lunch the queue for the Waffle House is because it’s so very good - worth the wait.
