Hidden gem to eat in Liverpool?

Anyone have any recommendations for food tonight in Liverpool? I will eat most things but friend is vegetarian.

We did the Albert Dock last night so I'm wondering about hidden places that we might otherwise miss.

Baltic Market - something for everyone and you're not tied to eating the same thing

www.balticmarket.co.uk/

Mowgli does amazing Indian street food and has fab veggie options.

MrsKeats · 04/08/2021 15:48

Try Duke's Street Market.

I second Mowgli - the owner has opened a few restaurants around the country now but this was the original. Order the Chat bombs. Maray, Italian Club and the Italian Club Fish all on Bold St. are good and Bold St has a lively atmosphere. 60 Hope St if you want a bit more posh or the Quarter opposite it for a more casual vibe.

All of the above. I’ll also suggest Maggie Fu on Hanover St (Asian street food, casual - yum!), Hanover St Social (casual/smart mid range, nice food and drinks), Almost Famous Burgers on Parr St, behind Bold St (casual, american style delicious fried food), Crust on Bold St (pizza, pasta, amazing dough balls) or Rudy’s on Castle St (pizza, Neapolitan style, casual and tasty).

Enjoy! Liverpool is ace.

Another vote for Rudy’s!

Amalia for Italian.

Another for Amalia

60 Hope Street closed for good a while back sadly.

Mowgli and Maray great for veggies, try Down the Hatch on Duke St for vegan burger type food too. Blackburne House cafe off Hope St is cheap and tasty, not open past mid-afternoon though I don't think.

bjjgirl · 04/08/2021 17:03

Bold street has loads of places, there is an amazing Mexican restaurant there

ChicChaos · 04/08/2021 17:03

I usually say Alma de Cuba, despite never having managed to eat there myself!

torquewench · 04/08/2021 17:04

The Quarter near the Philharmonic.

torquewench · 04/08/2021 17:05

And another vote for Rudy's. My nail tech is Sicilian and she says they're the best she's had in this country.

NeedNewKnees · 04/08/2021 17:07

Bundobust is great too

SoddingWeddings · 04/08/2021 17:09

Another vote for Mowgli - I prefer the Bold Street one but you can't book there

bravotango · 04/08/2021 17:10

Rudy's treat their staff poorly. I'd vote for Maray or Mowgli like PP suggested or Duke st market for more of a lively feel. I think the food is better than at Baltic Market personally

bravotango · 04/08/2021 17:28

Actually if you're happy to travel out of the city centre try and get a table at Belzan - it's fantastic
