Things to make you feel like a holiday

I've got a couple of days off work
I've taken my cup of tea and book outside to read in the sun to make me feel like it's a holiday.
What things can you do at home to make you feel like your away.

Nice food you wouldn’t normally have!

The smell of suncream makes me feel like I'm on holiday!
Breakfast treats e.g. platter if cold meats and cheese or baked goods.
A bath with mini toiletries.
Refuse to do any life admin, you are on holiday!

A different “cocktail of the day” each day before lunch.

Afternoon tea, a slice of cake with tea or coffee about 4pm.

There was an hilarious thread on this a few years ago ... wonder if it made classics?

BigSandyBalls2015 · 04/08/2021 08:19

It did! About 3/4 pages in ... I don’t know how to link it though.

DS1 and I went to the Portuguese supermarket the other day and bought ham flavour ruffles, lemon and strawberry Fanta and mango iced tea.
We got home and made a picnic with bread, cheese, crisps and our drinks and ate it with our feet in the paddling pool. It felt very holidayish.

Sit in paddling pool with cocktail, close eyes, play ibiza summer tunes.

Go to local beach (if you're near one). Wear green tinted sunglasses and pretend you're in the med. Don't forget to bring back lots of sand in your bags/hair/car.

Spend ridiculous amounts of money on ice cream at said beach.

I've done all of the above this week in an attempt to recreate the holiday feel, and while it's sort of worked I'm still spending my evenings searching up holidays abroad 2022
