Hamper/care package for a friend going through cancer

I tried to find the cancer board on MN but couldn't find it. I hope it's OK to post here.

A close girlfriend has just been diagnosed with breast cancer and I'd like to put together a hamper for her (she lives with her longer term partner, no kids). She's early sixties. I was thinking of including a few magazines, a colouring book, some chocolate, some nail polish. What else would someone in her position appreciate? She's very much the type of person who shuts herself off from everyone when things are not going well so anything 'social' wouldn't work.

Any suggestions gratefully received. Thank you.

What did she like before cancer? She'll like that!

Something showing that you care is lovely. But remember that she's still the same person as she was.

I'm not sure if they are still going, but there's an online shop called not another bunch of flowers. She specialises in just this sort of thing

A notepad/journal and nice pen
Cosy socks
Wheat bag
Crossword type book
Lip balm
Hand cream
Voucher for deliveroo or similar

Not another bunch of flowers - the founder had cancer herself which is why she started it. Sorry to hear about your friend. Do you know what treatment she will have? My friends really appreciated haircare and bodycare suitable for chemo, anti-nausea drops, and a cosy blanket. But she also really appreciated time and chats about anything other than cancer, continuing to laugh, trips and outings when she felt up to it.

Thank you everyone. Right now it seems like it will be mastectomies and radio so not sure whether the radio effects will be similar to chemo. I know that chemo affects your sense of smell and taste so you may not like what you liked before. I am creating a list and will see what I can find. I know there is a brand of nail polishes for example that can be used by cancer patients but I can't remember the name. If anyone knows it I'd appreciate a reminder. Thank you.

Cooks voucher, so she can fill her freezer with yummy food that takes zero effort.

If she's having a mastectomy and radiotherapy maybe get her a really soft natural organic material cami top so she has comfort next to her skin.

Ice lollies, my mum practically lived on them.

Also, much as a hamper is lovely, someone to go with her for prosthetic appointment (assuming she has one) is one way to support her.

I went with my mum for her first one and afterwards she said she was grateful, to the extent she went with another relative who had also had BC.

Skin lotion / moisturiser is good and I would suggest a beautiful scarf or chemo cap. Not everyone loses their hair but most people have some thinning, get something that will feel nice against sore skin.
