It’s probably been done to death - I’ve been reading old threads.
Just started them today and I’m sceptical.
Did they work for you?

Yep and 20+ years later I am on still on an SSRI. Probably wouldn't still be here if I hadn't been. Saved my life and my sanity. Hope it works for you.

Thank you! 😊
I just want the sick panic feeling to go.
I hope it works too!

They worked brilliantly for me but the first week was rough. They made me feel really sick for a week but it was definitely worth it. I'm off them now and in a much better place. They got me through a tough time.

Did you feel sick from the first tablet or did it take a while?

Yep, you will have to pries them out of my cold dead hands to get them off me.

They made me ‘me’ again.

Probably after tablet 2 or 3.

A family member started a mth ago and it’s like the heavy burden they carried has been lifted. She now engages in conversation instead of hiding in her room, seams interested in future plans. It’s so fantastic to see her struggles eased a bit. She struggled massively with anxiety.

I have only had one tablet & I was drowsy all afternoon. The weird thing is that whilst intrusive negative thoughts still came into my head something stopped them from developing into that awful panic I am struggling with.

It says on~line they take 2/4 weeks to kick in but there are also articles that talk about them giving immediate relief to adolescents in crisis (I am far from being one!).

Also evidence that it can be taken for only a few days around the end of the menstrual cycle for severe PMS.

Has anyone got experience of this?

I also slept better than I have for many months. I didn’t wake up once with the dreaded night panic.

Honestly, I think you need to stick with them until past the horrible stage. Everybody is different and therefore everyone will have a different story to tell about how they reacted to them.

I recall vivid dreams and a panic attack, but as said above I wouldn’t be without them now.

I took it for severe PMS. It really worked, I was much less grumpy and shouty but it made me really tired. In fairness I’m still tired now but then it was like I couldn’t push through it. I literally couldn’t sit down in the evenings or I would nod off. I also lost quite a lot of weight rapidly but I think this was related to the tiredness as I couldn’t stay awake to eat dinner. I was putting the kids to bed at 8 and falling asleep with them and sleeping right through to 6.30. I remember dh working away for a week (Mon - Fri) and coming back and being extremely concerned at how much weight I had lost.

I spoke to the doctor and we tried Yasmin pill which has been great, but I wouldn’t hesitate to take it again if necessary as it did make me much more pleasant to be around. And the weight loss would probably be a bonus nowadays as I’m not as slim as I was then!
