Can anyone find me discounted tickets for the Shard for Monday please?

The discounting sites only seem to offer tickets for Tues-Fri and we are only able to go up on Monday. The official site offers an essential package for £45 each including a cocktail that we don't want but I can't find the standard rate package. Can anyone help please - we are four adults?

Why not book a table in somewhere like Aqua Shard instead and have drinks? Its the same height as the viewing platform and you get a seat (and a drink!)

That's the Sky Garden, not the Shard! And it doesn't have availability for Monday.

I'm not sure where your £45 comes from - the stardard entry is c£30, but you can get it for less using the code SS20 - takes it to £25ish pp.

If you can book a table for the cafe at the Sky Garden you can get great views - not quite as high up as the Shard, but you do get to see the Shard (it's a bit like going up the Top of the Rock building in NY instead of the Empire State)

My reply was to @MySecretHistory - didn't quite get in there quick enough!

HattieMid2 · 03/08/2021 15:58

Yep just book a table at Aqua Shard!

I know that- The Shard is a waste of money for tourists. The Walkie Talkie has better views and is free. Live like a local.

You didnt say which Monday- it certainly has some Mondays

DogsSausages · 03/08/2021 16:12

The sky garden is much better

ReviewingTheSituation · 03/08/2021 16:12

I don't think the Shard is necessarily a waste of money - it is if you pay full price, but not if you can get a discount. It's a lot of money, sure, but each to their own in terms of how they spend their ££.
If you don't live in London, or visit very infrequently, sometimes it's nice to do the iconic tourist things. I went to the Shard as a tourist, and enjoyed it. (I used Tesco vouchers, which at the time gave me a very good deal, if you have those OP).

I've been to Sky Garden too, a few times, and I don't agree it has 'better' views - just different ones. Being able to see the Shard is definitely a plus, but the view from the Shard (on a clear day) really is amazing.

I haven't been to the Aqua bar, but that sounds like the most sensible option if you can book.

DogsSausages · 03/08/2021 16:21

Just go to the aqua bar and buy a drink you dont get much change from £10 each but it's cheaper and you dont need to book

Houseplantmad · 03/08/2021 16:33

Thanks all - we've done the Sky Garden previously a few years back. We live very much like locals (we live in London) but it's something that we've all wanted to do and, as we aren't going away for a holiday, we are doing things that have been on our wish list.

@ReviewingTheSituation £45 is the entry price on the website, which includes the compulsory unwanted cocktail. It says "from £39...". I've just phoned them and this is the cheapest and only availability they have. The SS20 discount code isn't working either but thanks for the suggestion.

Great idea re Aqua Shard - will look into that as an alternative!

I also see it out of my bathroom window every day and lit up at night so am keen for that reason too!

Thinking about it, isn't the Aqua bar much lower down the Shard than the viewing platform?

ReviewingTheSituation · 03/08/2021 16:43

The code works if you access it via this site:
www.smartsave.com/gb/merchant/view-from-the-shard-discount
I only tried with 2 tickets rather than 4, but for 2.15 on Monday it was £51.20.

Houseplantmad · 03/08/2021 16:53

Yes @ReviewingTheSituation you're right - Aqua is on Floor 32 so much lower. The code works (thanks!) but we can't get past the payment page. Apparently there's an issue at the back end of the site. Arrggghhh.

@ReviewingTheSituation - Update: success - thank you so much! Four tickets purchased with a big discount.
