It has been getting slowly worse but today I literally cannot put her down.

Babies are hard work sometimes.

You doing great. It is horrible and hard work when they cry all day. Speaking from experience, get her checked at the doctor. Our dd has an allergy to dairy which made her scream her head off all day. She is probably fine and has just had a bad day but for your sake and peace of mind it's worth it.

Thank you, I do suspect a cow's milk problem and am waiting for the GP to call back, she was on IV antibiotics a few weeks ago and things have slowly gotten worse since then.

Awwww. Poor little dab.

(This is the foster baby iirc, to forestall any suggestions of popping baby on boob)

She is indeed. The GP has agreed that she it could be an intolerance due to the antibiotics so we are trialling lactose free for two weeks.

Do you have a sling? I remember one awful day when DD just cried & cried, wouldn't sleep, I was almost in tears so put her in the sling to take her for a walk & she went to sleep instantly.

Brissiegirl · 04/08/2021 07:53

My dd3 was like that, total nightmare, cranky all the time. I changed her to soyamilk and she changed overnight and was such a sweet baby. I tried normal formula again a few months later and she was fine. Try it.

I have started lactose free milk today and she has been calmer up until the last two hours but I am taking it as a win. She does love the sling but yesterday even that didn't work. She sounds very phlegmy tonight too.

I hope you all get some sleep tonight fingers crossed

Oh, one thing - keep a diary of food to screaming link. At witching hour I used to go to bed with the baby, lie them on my chest/belly (all merged to one now lol) pull the duvet up, all while baby was screaming then as they would get warmer the farts would start and the screaming would stop. Remember with cow's milk, the lactose is a sugar hence lactose free things and the cow's milk protein is a really long amino acid chain which some babies can't digest so it causes them pain so they need dairy free. The amount of lactose free things we were given from family when dd couldn't have any milk at all, was a lovely thought and husband enjoyed eating it all lol

Sounds so stressful. Could it be colic? DD had that badly for a couple of months but I can’t remember what age she it started (all a blur)….. it did pass ……
