Mask or not at interview?

The job is at an immunisation centre in boots so will be required to wear a mask for the role.

I find communication is much less natural in a mask but seems the wrong thing to say.

Could you maybe wear it in, and then ask whether they'd be comfortable with you removing it during the interview?

With that context I would most definitely arrive wearing one. If my interviewer were not wearing one, I'd ask if they preferred if I kept mine on or not. If they were, I would keep it on.

I'd wear one. They'll tell you if they're happy for you to not wear one/you'll know if they're not wearing one.

My chemist asks people to still wear them voluntarily, staff and customers

Wear one. Don't ask if you can remove for goodness sake.

Unless you want them to think you're one of those people that believes the virus poses no threat now the Gov have lifted all restrictions.

I've intervened recently and we sat 2m apart. I asked the candidates if they were happy to remove due to the distancing and the cleaning in place. All candidates wanted to remove their masks and it meant it was far easier to interview.

Definitely turn up in one though

I would say no to wearing a mask as I’ve never worn one but as the job stipulates you have to wear one I would wear it going in to the interview and ask if you can remove it during the interview and see what the interviewer says.

I regularly interview people. We still ask people to wear masks when they come into our building but I always invite people to remove them during the interview. It's so much better for everyone without.
However some do chose to keep them on, which is absolutely fine.

I had an interview today. I wore a mask and kept it on, though it's still the law to wear one indoors here. One of the interviewers wore one, the other didn't.
