Which is the best flower delivery company you have used recently?

Just that really, would like to send my mum some flowers for the first time and wondering what's best.
She lives 100 miles away, could I call a florist near her to deliver? Or would a national one be better?

Bloom and Wild

SirVixofVixHall · 03/08/2021 10:09

I think using a local one is often the best way, maybe ask for suggestions from locals on here ?
Other than that I have used the Real Flower Company a lot and they are expensive but beautiful.

SirVixofVixHall · 03/08/2021 10:10

And a friend sent me a big bunch of scented stocks from M&S that were lovely and lasted ages.

I ring the florist local to my DMum (it's the one who did my wedding) and get her to deliver. I like to support local businesses

PaulGallico · 03/08/2021 10:16

I used to use bloom and wild but lately the flowers have been poor. I would use a local florist.

ImitationofBeing · 03/08/2021 10:17

I have used these 3 regulary with no issues but Flying Flowers reviews indicate issues at particular busy time (but been using them years and been no problems and flowers lasted ages.

Bloom & Wild - the only time a recipient has informed me the quality was poor. Disappointing as received them for myself and liked the packaging, creating bouquet.

Bunches are always beautiful. I’ve been using them for years and are so much better and more consistent than bloom and wild.

reprehensibleme · 03/08/2021 10:19

Local florists - streets ahead and much cheaper.

InTheNightWeWillWish · 03/08/2021 10:24

I like local florists mainly because I don’t have to pick one of the ore-created bouquets, I can ask the florist to include favourite flowers for the recipient or pick colours that they prefer.

For national chains, I’ve never had a problem with M&S or Bloom and Wild.

The Real Flower Company are the best I've found. They are always fresh and beautifully presented. The Florist's Choice could be a good one to choose for your mum.

'If you are looking for a scented, seasonal bouquet that showcases the very best of what is in bloom right now then look no further than our Florist’s Choice bouquet. Each Florist’s Choice bouquet is unique and made-to-order on our sustainable English flower farm using the very best of what’s in season that day. Each bespoke bouquet will be sent directly from farm to door next-day or on a day of your choice in our signature green recyclable box with a satin ribbon tie.'

Serenata. The flowers were gorgeous.

cathyandclare · 03/08/2021 11:03

I like Haute Floriste - especially the hand tied one

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 03/08/2021 11:03

I use Marks and Spencers or Waitrose as they last ages.

Bizjustgotreal · 03/08/2021 11:07

Moonpig or M&S - great price and the bouquets last for a good while!

Trampolean · 03/08/2021 11:08

I had some bloom and wild letterbox flowers delivered to a friend, and she loved them. They blossomed beautifully and lasted a fair while, there's usually discounts floating around as well. Admittedly they might not have the initial wow you might be looking for.

Flying flowers wonderful service

CurryLover55 · 03/08/2021 11:10

I can’t remember the exact name but google “ Isles of Scilly flowers”. I have had the most beautiful narcissi delivered to relatives who were delighted & said they lasted ages. You can get otter flowers too such as pinks. I’m pretty sure the company I use is on St Martins.

CurryLover55 · 03/08/2021 11:10

Other not otter lol 🤣

BadTimesAtTheElRoyale · 03/08/2021 11:12

Arena flowers are spectacular they donate money to Womens Aid and olant a tree for every bouquet sold.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 03/08/2021 11:12

I really like Bloom and Wild - the flowers last well and the fact you don’t need to be in is a bonus. This link gets £10 off if you are using them for the first time

I used a local one for some friends after a bereavement. I was able to briefly outline the situation and left the choice of flowers to the florist apart from saying not too bright and colourful.
Our friends were touched and delighted with them. So local wins for me and it just felt a bit more personal.

mommathatwearspink · 03/08/2021 11:26

I always prefer to use a local florist.
I have received 5 bunches in total from Bloom & Wild (2 were an apology bunch from B&W themselves for poor flowers) - not one bunch has been nice or arrived in a decent state.

coachmylife · 03/08/2021 11:31

Bloom and Wild are awful! Scraggy and grotty.

We've had lovely flowers from Freddie's Flowers, but I think you need to have a regular order w them (I got one for a friend's birthday some time ago and it was a big success)

Sennedd · 03/08/2021 18:36

I was sent some Bloom and Wild flowers earlier this year. I put them in a vase to ‘wake up’ as per instructions. I went upstairs and when I came down the flowers were gone. The box and ribbon were still on the table. My dh who normally ignores ‘dead flowers’ had folded them in half and binned them. He had also put rubbish on top of them. I was really annoyed. He fished them out, cut them where he had ‘folded’ them and albeit short, they lasted two weeks and were beautiful! I am now a convert to Bloom and Wild!
