Caravan owners

Thinking about buying Caravan in our favourite holiday destination, we go there every year and have decided it may be more worth it if we purchased ourselves and then we can also have other family use it when needed. When I was a 9 my family all pitched in to buy a caravan and we had it for 5 years before circumstances changed and we sold it. I obviously didn’t understand anything back then and times have changed in terms or rules and regulations aswell as inflation.
Are there any caravan owners out there that can shed light on the benefits and roughly how much money you actually get from renting it out to holiday goers. Obviously I know it will save us as a family money yearly in terms of our holidays however I want to know if it’s worth it to rent out especially in busier months.

Do you mean a static? They are money pits, depreciate incredibly quickly.

Our site fees were around 5k per year. Didn't get much renting it out as it was a) the money making times are when we wanted to use it with Dh a teacher and the kids had started school and b) complete pain in the arse having to clear out personal stuff or restock it when we wanted to use it.

Loved having it, but don't look on it as a way to make or save money.

We are in a site at the moment, starting prices are £39950. You can get a lot of holidays for that, add on the site fees...

Thank you x we’ve been looking online, it’s obviously a lot to think about and if i won the lottery I would straight out buy it, but it’s a lot of money to invest and I just wanted to know if it’s worth it.

The other thing to be wary of is if you buy direct from an owner check the site policies in age of van they will have on site, lots force you to upgrade or remove from the certain type of over a certain age.
