Medical foreign body mysteries - anyone had something like this?

My friend is mystified. After suffering an itchy and painful foot for a while and it getting worse and worse she was finally sent to A&E when she could bear it no longer.

They xrayed and said she had something that needed removing.

When they operated they took out 2 nails and a sewing needle she had no idea were in there! And she has no recollection of standing on something painful in the past either.

Is she diabetic?

Years ago I had my foot x-rayed and was told there was a needle in it.

I don't remember why my foot was x-rayed at that time and I have not seen or heard anything about the needle since.

So it does happen.

Wtf one of them things is understandable but 3 is madness. Does she have diabetes or circulation issues that means she might not have felt them when stood on? Or does she remember looking up into the night sky at a bright light?

No diabetes. She is a runner and has damaged her hamstring on that leg once, but no other issues.

That’s really weird. And worrying.

I had a thing in my ear though. Like a hard mass of stuff that wasn’t wax. It was suggested that it was some kind of ear drops that I’d had as a child that weren’t ever licensed in the UK for the reason that they could solidify if they got water or something like that…
It was immense when it got taken out- like I could
Magically hear my hair next to my ear etc !

Wtaf?! I stepped on bits of broken window one night, walked on it all day hearing it grate against the other piece, then spent a painful long time tweezering it out. How could she not know it was there??
