Anyone been to a Haven caravan park since "Freedom Day"?

We are off to a Haven park next week. We booked through a private owner, so no entertainment passes. Trying to decide if we should get them.

My kids will only really want to use the pool but it looks like you need to book sessions in advance. Has anyone been in the last couple of weeks? How was it booking sessions? I don't want to shell out loads of £££ and then not be able to get in the pool.

Oh Jesus, just found the recent Trip Advisor reviews, and they aren't pretty. People paying hundreds for play passes and only able to book 1 or 2 sessions during their stay.

How can I explain to my kids that they aren't going to get in the swimming pool?
We just showed them the videos of all the cool stuff they won't be doing.

This heat wave had better arrive.

We went before freedom day in early July and didn’t get a pass but I could see that it was difficult to get bookings so was happy with that decision. I would just assure yourself there is enough to keep your kids happy close by, outside of the site, and then not bother to book one.

We went last week on a stay and play holiday. You could book 8 sessions (1 session = 1 person) in the outdoor pool and 8 in the indoor pool, which was annoying for us as we’re a family of five. We booked two fives and two threes in the hope there’d be some cancellations. As soon as we got there on the Monday DP went to the pool to see what was available and managed to get a couple more bookings. We ended up with one outdoor session and two indoor ones over a four night break (Mon to Fri), with one outdoor session cancelled due to a problem with the pool. People do drop out or don’t turn up, so it’s not set in stone Smile

We went at the end of june/beginning of July, in Scotland so area still level 1/2. Availability: 1 hour long swim session, one 45 mins evening entertainment and 1 restaurant booking. Half the activities were off. Essentially an extra hundred odd quid for fuck all. NO masks worn in the arcade and very little sanitiser available anywhere, not surprisingly there was an outbreak within the staff. Poor buggers

Which haven is it? Are there other fun pools in the area? Maybe book offsite activities and 0ut the funpass money towards that?

Is it worth if there is a leisure pool near to the site? I live in a tourist location and we have a few splash parks dotted about.

Thanks all we are going to Devon cliffs, I shall be spending the £££ on days out instead.

Weather looking not too bad, so will be at the beach ALOT.

Might just have to blindfold the kids when we go past the pool.

Can I ask how long a session in the pool is? Is it only an hour? I am now glad we didn't get the passes.

Crealeys here we come
