Fever/headache virus? (Not covid)

Has anyone else had this? I've heard there's some weird virus going round. I've had a constant headache that paracetamol and ibuprofen isn't getting rid of, and felt hot and clammy since Saturday. Vomited Sunday once.

Done 2 LFTs, both negative.

Does anyone else have this?

Yes, I'm only just getting over it 2 weeks later. Horrible headache that I just couldn't shift, muscle aches, fever, and sore throat. I took 2 lateral flows and a pcr test because I was convinced I had Delta varient.

Feel better soon Flowers

Two negative LFTs don't equal no Covid, I'm afraid. You need a PCR.

Could be anything 🤷‍♀️

Sounds grim regardless, and I hope you get well soon!

Get a PCR!

Another vote for a PCR. Lateral flow tests should only be used if people are asymptomatic

Bloody hell, I'm going to have to go to the drive through aren't I.

I’ve got this. 1 positive LFT, 1 negative PCR test. But feel terrible

Xyzzzzz · 02/08/2021 18:20

I’ve got something similar. Negative PCR. Dr said it was just a viral thing, but my headache is terrible.

You feel/have felt feverish. That's one of the three official symptoms. You need to get a PCR.

Headache and vomiting can also be symptoms of Covid.

But of course it could be another virus, or a migraine, or something else. There's no way of knowing without a PCR test. LFTs are not accurate enough to use if you have symptoms.

You and your household need to isolate until you get a negative PCR result. If positive you all need to isolate for 10 days from the start of your symptoms.

How anyone can fail to know this after 18 months I don't know.

Hope you feel better soon!

I've honestly had no reason to be tested so far. I work from home full time, get my shopping delivered, and have been double vaccinated. I haven't had a single cold/flu/any illness with symptoms related to covid since the start!

Why would I know these things? I've done LFTs a few times before hairdressers and tattooist appointments but have had no reason to have a PCR at any point.
