Waiting at security………

So I got married on Saturday - it was a wonderfully relaxed day - loved every moment and now I’m at the security to go on honeymoon.
My new husband! (!!!!!!) has been stopped for a bag check.
Do we think it’s due to:
A: car keys
B: random check
C: more viagra than we could ever use, being flagged up!

Airport security - I’ve already consumed a quantity of champagne in the check in queue!

His new aftershave smells of weed and has aroused suspicion? Or you have a ddog and the drug's dodg has sniffed out some left over treats in dh's pockets?

If he's anything like my husband it will be his belt buckle despite me telling him before every single bloody flight we've ever taken not to wear a bloody belt.

DH got searched every time he went away because he looks shifty. When I started traveling with him, I then got searched. Every time we flew without fail. They did the swabs everything. They say it’s “random” but I never got searched pre DH. Even had to take off my flip flops.

NC'd for this as I've told quite a few people IRL this story.

About 5 years ago DH and I were transferring at a foreign airport. He got pulled into a side room for a laptop check so handed me his jacket, keys etc to hold including his passport.

I waited, and waited and waited but he never came out. After about 20 minutes I tried to ask some of the staff but couldn't find one who spoke English and I didn't speak the language. Anyone I spoke to just shrugged.

By this time I was frantic, I KNEW he couldn't be airside as I had his passport so they must have kept him for some reason.

Eventually, in tears, I decided to go through to Departures and hopefully find someone who spoke English to help me. I didn't but did find DH waving at me from the other side of passport control. They'd let him out a back door to the office and passport control had let him through with just his driving licence, for an international flight.

I'd been frantic and in tears and he'd been in the bloody duty free totally unconcerned apart from wondering what was taking me so long.

I. Was. Not. Happy.

With us it's usually me who triggers the alarm. One year we went to the airport and I purposely wore a light dress, flipflops, no jewellery and I still got stopped. I didn't even have a wire in my bra! DH just stands and looks with a resigned look on his face.

I will never forget the time I was in an airport wheelchair, being pushed through security, the security check, found traces of explosives on the wheelchair. The security person said don’t worry we know it’s not your wheelchair and asked the assistance person to wipe the chair down throughly after I was dropped off. So random situations do occur.

He got through ok in the end. Just a random check……… 😏🙄

Also got into the airport lounge, as he has a crypto currency card which allows us in.

I was pleased with the free food and booze, but slightly disappointed to discover a lounge isn’t like a James Bond hotel, with tuxedo-clad waiters wafting around the luxurious soft furnishings, with canapés and champagne. It’s more like a canteen! 😂
