I have a rare free day today, children are all plugged into various devices and the washing basket is fairly empty so I’m going to treat myself to a movie afternoon!!

I like thought provoking and gritty movies that stay with you long after they have ended...

Recommend me your favourite or most memorable film!

Requiem for a dream - made me feel melancholy for about a week afterwards. Gone, baby, gone was another one. Gritty more than thought provoking I'd say.

Oohhh gritty and thought provoking, "Room" and "Saint Frances" are both superb watches!

Changeling is one that’s stayed with me.

I’ve seen lots of these and agree especially with Changelling and Room...

Watched My Zoe today and was good but not one that will stay with me!!

I think the answer to this will depend on what’s going on in your personal life at the time.

For me, it was Yes Man staring Jim Carey. I normally hate Jim Carey, and hate his ‘funny’ stuff that I don’t ever find funny.

But I loved the film so much, as I was feeling so stuck in life. The film is all about a man who who always turns down opportunities or anything outside his comfort zone. He decides to say yes to everything.

It actually really inspired me!

Saint Maud is another one - slow burner
