Looking at a student rental and the gas check has come back with the following defect.

Flue not sealed inside or outside and not stable. AR prp termination ncs

Does anyone know what this means at all?

Thank you.

I think ncs is 'not to current standards' meaning if you built it new you wouldn't do it like that, but it's not dangerous in itself.

Not sure what context you've seen this, but there should be a phone number of the person/firm that carried it out so you could ring them and ask?

Agree with above.

Our boiler is the same.

It's an old regulation that was changed.

We haven't bothered to do anything to the boiler

Brilliant thank you. It is on the landlord safety check that was carried out.

It is stated under the section - defects.

So it doesn't actually mean that it is unsafe just that it wouldn't be how things are currently done if built today.

There is a number but I assumed the contract would be with the landlord and gas servicer so they wouldn't deal with me.

Yes that's how I understand it.

Ours was part of a gas check and even the gas man said "im marking this an an unsafe defect but please ignore it as it's just new regulations"
