Just discussing with DH. Considering the impossible access to heath care on whatever journey they have taken, what happens when they arrive in the UK ?
Do boat arrivals get put into an isolation facility ? Covid tested ? Jabbed ?

I know a few have been put into local hotels where I live.
The locals are currently asking for donations of clothing and mobile phones.

Speaking with one he hasn't had the vaccine as of yet but that's only one person

They have their temperature taken on arrival (when they've just been in a freezing cold boat) and then they're transferred to an immigration centre where they will have initial details taken. They have a covid test if they're showing any symptoms.
The Home Office try to isolate any positive cases but as far as I'm aware they're not offered the vaccine.
There is a huge backlog of asylum cases so they're being housed in various hotels and ex-army barracks in large numbers and social distancing is difficult.

Don't think the ex-army barracks really meet the definition of 'housed' Sad

A lot of current barracks don't either, the government saves £££ by declaring ah we are shutting this one down we won't do any maintenance, and then 20 years later it's still open and in a crap state. A tangent I know.

We have enough jabs so I guess there's a reason if they aren't offered.
