How many months?

Eleoura · 01/08/2021 21:26

How long is the contract for???

RhonaRed · 01/08/2021 21:26

Similar on first view.

Wtfdoipick · 01/08/2021 21:29

If its less than 12 months the lower upfront cost is better if its over then the higher upfront cost works out cheaper

VladmirsPoutine · 01/08/2021 21:32

Ah yes that might have been a useful bit of info! 24 months for both.

But phone 2!

RhonaRed · 01/08/2021 21:35

Buy.

PeonyTime · 01/08/2021 21:35

2 is marginally cheaper, I think.

1598 for 2, 1731 for 1.

TeacupDrama · 01/08/2021 21:36

PHONE 2 by well over a £100 but it is nearly £1600 nevertheless for that I'd expect it to do housework too ( only joking) Grin

Hissysnake · 01/08/2021 21:37

There usually isn't much in it with phone contracts?

What is the difference in spec for the phones and more importantly, what do you get each month in your allowance? Usually I find the higher monthly cost usually does give you more allowance.

RhonaRed · 01/08/2021 21:38

Teacup this is true , I was in maths mode not phone buying mode.

I bought reconditioned!

VladmirsPoutine · 01/08/2021 21:38

Thanks!!! You wouldn't imagine I've been trying to work this out for the past hour...

how much to buy phone outright then get SIM only deal, you can get unlimited SIM ( text minutes and Data) for about £25 a month?
for it to be cheaper the phone would need to be less than £998

VladmirsPoutine · 01/08/2021 21:40

@Hissysnake Both unlimited data, 128gb so all in all v.similar.

VladmirsPoutine · 01/08/2021 21:43

@TeacupDrama I hadn't considered that - just checked and it's £999

OP posts:
TeacupDrama · 01/08/2021 21:44

actually right now the "3" network has unlimited everything at £16 a month 12 month contract and £24 for a month by month contract

TeacupDrama · 01/08/2021 21:45

well at £16 a month and £999 you would save £215

Eleoura · 01/08/2021 21:47

I too was going to suggest buying one outright, or even 2nd hand. I've done this for years as can't see the point in paying over the odds to be stuck in a contract.

negrilbaby · 01/08/2021 22:10

Phone 1 total cost:
24 x 68 + 99 = £1731
Phone 2 total cost:
24 x 57 + 230 = £1598
A difference of £133

FlowerArranger · 01/08/2021 22:17

What @Eleoura said.

£67 a month plus being stuck with the contract for two entire years. I can't see any possible advantage.
