Driving past far too fast

We’ve had a guy move in and he drives past like an absolute wanker.
We’re on a small road, 20mph, with a turn around at the end. He drives fast then brakes at the last minute.
What can we do ? I’d call the police but I have no evidence.

The police aren't going to do anything about this unfortunately.

That’s a shame. He will hit someone one day.

Appeal to the council or whoever for traffic calming measures to be introduced?

Our local force have recently encouraged locals to send them videos from dashcams showing illegal behaviour, im sure if you can video it showing reg etc they would be interested, although maybe quite low on their priorities I suppose.

I just don’t want anyone to get hurt when it’s avoidable. He passes a park when driving like this.

Why not go and speak to him? Say kids play out etc.

DinosaurDiana · 01/08/2021 21:18

Because he has a history of violence.

Our local police have actually just arrested three of serial offenders for this - I have no idea what is happening next but when a child was nearly hit they did actually do something.

OP = report online every single time, with car registration number.

DinosaurDiana · 02/08/2021 06:53

Ok thanks, I will.
I’ve got a cctv camera, they can come and look at it.

These types are usually up to no good in general. Check online that the vehicle is taxed and an eye out and ear to the ground for other dodgy dealings such as drug dealing and duly report.

Unless you have evidence the police won't do anything - they can't just go around accusing people of speeding on the say-so of a neighbour.

If you can film it and include the number plate that may be different but I'm still not sure if they could do anything about it.
