DH and I started a business during lockdown. We have a CTO who has started to build, and are about to get letters of intent from 3 big customers (major financial institutions). Our model is commission based and as a web based platform with not huge staffing costs our profit margins will be very high. We are based in the U.K. but will be launching in another country as they are crying out for innovation in our particular industry.
We’re reaching the point where we need some money - not huge amounts - for legal costs and to support one of us to work on it full time. We’re loathe to try and get angel investment as well have to give away lots of equity for not much money, and VC funds look very scary and labour intensive - plus I don’t think they’d even fund us as we’re so early.
Do any mumsnetters have any experience in this area? I’ve looked at grants but can’t find any that apply - though may be looking in the wrong place. Want to avoid loans if at all possible for obvious reasons.
