Friendships have come

Before November I could honestly say I had one decent friend unfortunately she lives over 300 miles away. So meeting up was very difficult.
Why November you ask. That is when I was diagnosed with cancer.
When my treatment finished in may and I started going out instead of just going with DH or our DD and DiL.

I had people who I always thought of as aquatiences phone me up and arranging to meet even if it was for coffee and cake.
I'm 61 and finally have 10 friends nearby who I can call on or phone. We have started to meet up for meals.
Maybe before I gave off a vibe of being confident and independent which put them off being friends.
I was always friendly and chatty but never felt liked.
Anyone who is looking for friends they are out there somewhere and will come to you when you least expect. (Hopefully not through illness etc)

That's a lovely positive post. Makes a change from friends turning out to be absolutely awful on so many posts! Hope you're now well and remain so.

That's lovely post - but beware I had cancer and suddenly I was inundated with friends..... I got better- wasnt such a good photo/facebook OP the friends went! Beware of becoming they're charity/goodwill case. But if they're not arseholes you're sorted.
