I wiped down my new Quartz this morning with flash multi surface spray and didn't realise it wasn't advised to be used on Quartz. I went straight out after and I'm not home for a few hours. Will I of ruined it? I'm panicking!!

Never used that spray but I doubt very much that you’ve ruined your worktops!
I’ve got off white/cream quartz worktops and I use pretty much any type of cleaner on them

EllieRoses · 01/08/2021 13:28

I thought you could use anything but apparently you should only use water and a mild soap and none of these sprays like flash etc. I'm so worried I'll of ruined it, it was fitted yesterday! Sad I hope you're right!

I used any cleaner I liked on mine, from CIF to Chlorox spray on mine for over 2 years and they were fine!

I use the flash on mine everyday no problem!!! X

Panickingpavlova · 01/08/2021 14:22

This is why I don't want quartz in my new kitchen Grin I just want a working surface I don't have to worry about.

EllieRoses · 01/08/2021 15:07

I thought I'd be able to use anything and they'd be indestructible that's why I chose them. I'm going to be fretting until I get back!

I use the elbow grease spray on mine, even though water was recommended by the company who fit it it definitely won't remove a turmeric stain ffs.

Also used flash spray as well as the pink stuff and never had a problem. What do they say will happen if you use sprays?

Cilit Bang is the work of the devil I find - ate my bathroom tiles away

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 01/08/2021 18:27

It’ll be fine. Marble is the only thing that is really fussy, I’ve found.

shockedandsadd · 01/08/2021 19:06

I use anything and everything on my white quartz and had no problems, that's why I got quartz so I didn't have to worry about it getting spoilt ! Yours will be fine

dazzlingdeborahrose · 01/08/2021 20:56

I've used all manner of surface cleaners on my quartz including Flash. It's fine.

MrsSkylerWhite · 01/08/2021 20:58

It’ll be fine Smile

user16395699 · 01/08/2021 21:03

Is that the one with bleach in it?

Marble is delicate like pp says. There are lots of things in our homes that shouldn't be cleaned with more than water or mild detergent.

Even if this turns ok might be a good idea to break the habit of just spraying stuff like that on everything.

Yes, me too.
Feelingmardy · 01/08/2021 22:00

How do people get limescale off quartz?

allycat4 · 01/08/2021 22:02

Should be fine. Quartz is great

OnTheBoardwalk · 01/08/2021 22:06

I’ve spilt and used all sorts on my quartz

Cherrydown · 05/08/2021 22:12

Were they ok?

OnTheBoardwalk · 05/08/2021 22:58

Absolutely fine. I was told the only thing I really need to worry about was heat on quartz

The salesperson took my keys and scraped them against other materials and quartz to show nothing harms it. I was more worried about my keys than the quartz
