Mitchum twist up deodorants - am I doing it wrong or are they just shite?

Am I using the packaging wrong? Every time I get to the end and there's a fuck-tonne of actual deodorant left but no way for me to get it, short of scooping it out and smearing it on.

It drives me mad but it's my favourite deodorant by far. Pics to show what I mean.

Yep there's loads of waste. I've recently discovered that it can be scooped out and molded into my next tube. Made my realise I was throwing away about a weeks worth from each tube.

yes, twist ups are quite wasteful.
I think roll ons are better

Have you had any problems getting the twist up tom actually work ?

I had a spate of them just not budging until I got someone much stronger and even then they failed on a couple, at nearly a fiver each I was not best pleased

I looked on their FB page and it seems others have the same problem. I emailed and got two vouchers, no explanation though

They’re crap. I don’t buy them any more as they always crack and break off.

They used to be quite good/effective as a deodorant but i had so many issues with the waste and the twist but not working that I stopped using them approx 15 yrs ago.

I wrote to the company and complained each time they didn't twist and received vouchers. They said that they couldn't explain the issue but reminded me that it is (or was) the most popular deodorant in the USA.

The spray cans are equally shite in that they frequently don't work and you lose an entire can! I gave up completely.

The roll on’s can be a bit hit and miss as well. Sometimes the casing seems too tight for the roller ball and it just won’t move effectively.

I've had the same problem. I've stopped buying it now.
The spray can was worse I've lost count of the number of cans I've binned because the spray was broken.
Only ever happens with Mitchum.

Oh I get so frustrated at the sprays not working.

I agree that it’s wasteful and frustrating, perhaps we can get a MN campaign going !
But I don’t like the roll-on as my clothes stick to me when it dries.

I've read that if you save the leftover inaccessible containers, until you've got several, then push the product out and melt in microwave, you can pour it back into to a container and leave it to go solid again, creating a new deodorant. Haven't tried it though.

I read a tip that said save the unused bits of Mitchum from 3 or 4 containers, then break them up and add to a single container and microwave gently until melted and it sets into a new solid bar, basically like a brand new one.

Haven't tried it yet, as I've only got 2 with unused residue so far, but am determined to give it a whirl.
