Have you had a ghost experience/ghost story ?

Just chatting with dp and both of us have had ghostly moments either together or individually.

Have you ever experienced something ghostly that you cant explain?

No.

I don't really believe in that sort of thing but the only thing to have happened that I can't explain is that me and DH was walking up some stairs on a secluded beach in Spain when we both heard footsteps behind us because we both moved to the side to let whoever past as they were quite fast footsteps but there was no one there, don't think it's ghostly but a bit odd and I can't explain it especially since we both heard it.

Well, credulous people are probably more likely to marry other people.

There's a properly creepy story on here about a poster who was staying in a hotel/B&B and the solid wood bed started shaking so much it moved away from the wall. Iirc she had handprints on her throat when she got up the next morning. Wish I could remember the poster's name!

I've had 2 experiences which are still pretty clear in my mind.

1. I must have been around 10 & on holiday in a foreign county. There was a wedding happening so I stood watching it. I remember seeing the bride walk towards the car & I swear she elevated a few feet in the air then dropped to floor. Like something out of a Sci fi movie & body being possessed. I ran back inside the house. No one else witnessed but me so no one to corroborate the events but I stand by it Lol

1. Just bought my 1st born home & pit her to sleep in the moses basket. I woke up midsleep & I saw a white figure go across the room. Just kinda floated across. Remember panicking so badly & picked up baby. She slept in my arms all night as I wa so terrified. Told my parents the next day. My mum said to me it must be your grand dad coming to bless your child. I'd rathe believe that then thinking otherwise.

So yeah weird scenarios but makes me believe ghosts exists. Terrifies me also.

I don't believe in ghosts....but I had a really really weird experience.

I was working in what is apparently one of the most haunted places in Great Britain.

I was running a wedding, when I heard children running around upstairs in the derelict area. Me being me, thought ah damn some of the kids/guests have gone through a staff door that leads upstairs to the derelict area. Kids will be kids they like to explore.

So up I went to the derelict area. As I was walking up the stairs I could hear what I believed to be at least 3 separate children running around. So I reach the derelict area and say loudly "anyone up here? You aren't in trouble but I need you to go downstairs as it's not safe up here"

I then see out of the corner of my eye a small child height shadow step out of a doorway and jump back in to one of the rooms.

It isn't dark in the derelict area in the day due to the amount of windows.

I walk down to the old TB ward where I saw the shadow and as I approach I hear stiffled children's giggles. I say again loudly "c'mon out, I don't want anyone hurt" as I turn in to the ward ....nobody there it's empty!!! No furniture nothing just an empty room.

I walked the rest of the derelict floor, but heard no more footsteps or laughter. If there were children up there they would have had to come past me to get out. As there's only one staircase accessible up there.

I returned downstairs convinced myself I just heard kids downstairs which sounded like they were upstairs, and I'm sticking to that!!!

Many years ago at my ex boyfriends house, his sister lived there with her baby who was around 10/11 months no older then 1.

She’s gone out for the evening so myself and my ex offered to look after him.
Anyway, his house always gave me the creeps but in the 5 years I stayed there I never saw anything until this night.

I was sat down watching tv and the baby monitor was on the side next to me. I could hear the baby giggling and babbling, I could then hear what I thought was my boyfriends voice. Didn’t think much of it thought it was cute, 2 seconds later I get up to get a drink from the kitchen to which he is sat in the kitchen at the breakfast bar with his head phones on, on his laptop. Like he hadnt moved.

I asked if he was upstairs and he said no. Anyway, a few seconds later I hear the baby cry upstairs.
We both go up together (forgetting what I just heard) and the baby is stood up in their cot pointing and now giggling again.
My boyfriend picks the baby up and the baby’s eyes are fixated to a corner of the room smiling and engaging like someone was there.

Myself and my ex boyfriend both looked at each other and we just knew there was something in that room. The baby could see it and we couldn’t.

I honestly don’t think I ever stepped foot in that room again, nor stayed in that house alone. It still haunts me today!

Yup. I was staying at an ex's house before we left for skiing the next day. Its a REALLY old house, think wonky floor boards and walls. Hundreds of years old. It was about 3am and woke up for some reason, and saw a dark hooded figure standing at the end of the bed looking at me. I was so scared I couldnt move or speak. Ive never felt like that again. I told the ex in the morning and he said that there was a highwayman hanged down the old road about 50m from the house hundreds of years ago and sometimes he appears. I didnt know about this story before so I dont think I was mentally creating the experience based on prior knowledge.
