Can anyone suggest something nice to do? Getting over breakup

Hi all,

I am a few weeks on from a breakup, nothing overwrought or awful, more of a practical problem that could not be compromised over. Not a very long relationship.

Anyway, I was a bit up and down as I liked the guy a lot but recognised he was not perfect. I've been keeping busy and feeling ok.

However I am thinking of him a lot today. He asked me to an event with his friends and I was so excited to be asked. Obv I'm now not going. We are NC so I wont see anything about it in social media so st least there's that. No friends or anything in common.

I was supposed to be going to a BBQ instead but it was cancelled as my friend has just got pinged.

Other close mates are busy.

Any ideas for distraction, doing something nice, or even tips for moving on?

Thanks! Smile

Sorry about your breakup. Is the weather reasonable? Go for a walk listening to music, go see a friend? Sounds like you're doing brill already

I find going to the cinema a good way to take myself to another place. If you have one of the swanky ones (Everyman or similar) nearby, book a nicely positioned chair, order a G&T and some nachos and settle back. A visit to the theatre is similar. No one notices if you are alone but, if you feel self conscious, just arrive as it starts, not early.
My other solo escape is to hire a pony for an hours hack.
You seem to have a positive spin on life so you are half way there already Flowers

Thanks for some lovely ideas! Everything's a bit booked up for tonight but the long walk really helped

Really pleased. I'm a walker in times of need. Helps me think and appreciate the surroundings too. Feel positive afterwards even if I don't always feel like going.
