Best coats/outdoor brands?

I’m now the very proud owner of a dog, and I need to prepare myself for the wet-weather walks ahead! 🐶

I have a couple of half decent coats including a VERY sweaty waterproof one from Kathmandu (which actually isn’t 100% waterproof) and an insulated one from Tog 24, but the dye runs when it gets wet!

Can anyone recommend your best outdoor brands for a decent dog walking coat. Ideally I want something completely waterproof but still breathable, with lots of pockets.

Recommendations for decent dog walking boots/trainers/wellies also gratefully received.

I have a Jack Wolfskin one that's still waterproof after 5 years. It's got a separate fleece that zips in and out.

I use either normal walking boots (from Blacks, I think), Dublin Country boots or wellies (current ones Dunlop from Amazon, about £20 but have holes in after a year.)

Thanks! I’ve seen some lovely Jack Wolfskin jackets. One with a separate fleece would be handy too.

The rules are you need to post a picture of your new dog Grin

My mum is out with the dogs a lot and invested in a Didriksons last year, she loves it and it's completely waterproof. You can get some discounted, but generally they are a higher price point than others so depends what your budget is.

I've owned two parkas in 10 years and they are durable, windproof, warm, and waterproof

Didrikson! If you buy one this time of year, you can get one for about £100. Occasionally, if you're very lucky, tk max have them in.
My husband was so jealous, he bought himself one so we now have matching coats (in different colours).
I almost look forward to winter just so I can put it on.

Montane coats are great, stood up to working outdoors in the Lake District. Equally my le chameau wellies have been going for almost 8 years now and are so comfortable.

I have just got a puppy and fully intend to utilise my coat I got from Jack Murphy for playground duty. It's a good weight for walking in, with built in treat pocket too. I've got a very tatty old Barbour too I will get rewaxed.

Am looking out for wellies/boots myself too. Anything cheap is usually a false economy. Hear good things about Muck boots. I have muddy tracks and paths to negotiate so need grip!

Boots, what about something like this? I have a pair similar style and they're so comfy, totally waterproof and has lasted years. Far better than any wellies I've owned.

For severe weather I wear this -
