Fostering form F assessment

Whatinthelord · 31/07/2021 08:02

Anyone have any experience of the from F assessment? Either as a potential foster carer or as a social worker?

Considering looking as doing some form f assessment alongside my current job ( which is part time). However would be great to hear others experiences of doing that tore off work.

First question is are you a qualified social worker?

Findahouse21 · 31/07/2021 08:07

I'm also considering at least doing the training, however in our LA there are literally no prosoective Foster carers at the moment. Applicants have really dropped recently so may want to bare that in mind

Sorry, yea I am. I am not currently working as a see but still registered and working in a connected role. I worked in CSC for 7 years as a sw.

Ah really. I was thinking of doing it alongside my current job so I wouldn’t be reliant on the income as a wage

There is a fostering board under 'Becoming a Parent' so you might find 'users' of the form there.

chocolatepudandchocolatesauce · 31/07/2021 08:12

That's the first hurdle crossed then :) it depends what other commitments you have on your non working days. They can be done in evenings and weekends but you may not want to fill your entire week with work.

Darnley · 31/07/2021 08:14

Whereabouts are you. I’m always on the lookout for assessors.

Whatinthelord · 31/07/2021 08:17

I’m in wiltshire.

I have a day a week off work when the kids are in school. So have some time to write up, visit, but would be happy to do some evening and weekends to get assessments done.

I’d also be interested to know - does anyone know how easy it is to get into doing this from a different social work area? I am qualified and have loads of experience but all with adults apart from my first placement which was in a LA fostering team but that was 15+ years ago

Darnley · 02/08/2021 15:09

Same. I have no clue how to do it either.

PotteringAlong · 02/08/2021 15:19

@Darnley @Whatinthelord look at the message - there should be 3 little dots on the right hand side. Click that then click the PM button.

When you go to the top of the page there is a person - click on that and you should be able to read a message you’ve been sent!

Just sent you one I think! A test message to see if it’s received
