Have you ever had a terrible hair cut and told the hairdresser you hated it?

If so how did you do it?

I remember years ago getting an awful cut and colour at Toni & Guy - my hair was uneven and dark grey not blonde! And I said it was lovely, paid £159, left and cried 🤣 my boyfriend at the time went in the next day to sort it because I was embarrassed.

I never get my hair done differently now as I think I'd die of embarrassment if I had to tell them I didn't like it!

Not me, but I took my niece for a trim of her longer than waist length hair. Stylist was appalling, couldn’t cut it straight and then tried to keep cutting to straighten it up. I stopped them as I could see that my niece would have eventually ended up with a pixie cut the way they were going. I complained and took her home. My niece insisted I paid as she was so embarrassed and just wanted to get out of there. Her mum also complained, they couldn’t have cared less, refused a refund but grudgingly offered a ‘free’ haircut with the same stylist at a later date. Not bloody likely!

Once. The bloke had cut it fine before, but this time he was either away with the fairies or had misunderstood what I said. The front was OK but the back was like a short back and sides. I was in tears when he showed me. They said I didn’t have to pay, but I did, left the shop in tears and phoned a dd away at uni - this was a long time ago - and told her he’d made me look like something I can’t mention now - too un PC.

Dd phoned the shop and gave him a bollocking!

But only a day later same dd phoned, terribly upset, because a male student friend who’d stayed at our house, had been killed in a road accident. And I felt so bad for getting in such a state about my hair, which would soon grow back.

Oh yeah, and I was a complete wuss and didn't say anything, just never went back.

1- came out with a mullet. Went to work the next day and everyone was being kind about it, then my work bestie saw me and was honest. I went somewhere else to get it fixed and the stylist was a miracle worker.

  1. Expensive balayage where the colour at the ends was totally wrong and they tried to brazen it out by claiming they'd changed it on purpose as they thought it would suit me better. Bullshit.
  1. Supercuts at Bluwater. God she must have hated me. Asked for a light sideswept fringe and got a heavy straight one. Ragged long Bob, which she styled, well its hard to describe. You know how little kids draw women's hair with a big outward flick up at shoulder level? That. I looked like a cartoon. Or an alien from Mars Attacks. I had to walk through Blue water with people staring and visibly laughing at me. Went home and cried.

I've had some terrible perms and cuts over the years. Usually I'm not too devastated, my hair grows very quickly so I know in a few months I'll be able to fix it. But instead of saying I don't like it I just don't go back. Hairdressers rely On repeat custom so this hurts them the most.

Yes, I said no layers above my ears (my hair is curly) and she thought I said ''layers above my ears'' so I looked like an ape on planet of hte apes with a mullet. It was so terrible. I cried. They didn't make me pay. They tried to fix it by giving me a pixie, but i just hated it. I hadn't gone in wanting short hair. I was so upset. and then, the next day two planes flew in to the twin towers in new york so that gave me a bit of perspective.
