Hi wise people of mumsnet!

I'm after some help... what toys/items are your 4 year olds playing with/obsessed with?!

4yo birthday gift to buy for and currently not a single idea what to get!

Thanks in advance Grin

I have a 4 year old girl and I would say they're just about the easiest to buy for. Mine loves everything:
Marble run - a favourite here at the moment
Craft stuff
Hama beads/aquabeads
Science kit
Playmobil
Garden toys (water pistol?)
Lego

You could ask the parents if she has any particular interests or dislikes, but I think they like pretty much everything at that age!

Small world stuff - play mobile, slyvanians, doll house

Role play - vets, fire fighters,

Sports equipment - scooter, bike, tennis rackets, body board.

Some more things:
Sticker books - mine loves the Usborne Sticker Dolly Dressing books
Board game - Guess Who? Junior Monopoly or Jenga all good for that age
Playdoh
Magic painting
Cute backpack/lunchbox/drinks bottle for starting school

Depends on your budget really

I just asked a 4 year old and she said a fairy with pink hair...

But yeah any little dolls like Sylvanian families, barbies, hatchimels, my little ponies etc.

Also a tiara and a fairy wand would go down well here.

My 4 year old got a baby and a functioning baby bath recently and is obsessed.

Minions fart gun
Unicorn bubble machine (Sainsbury's)
Real sunflower + small watering can
Child's chefs hat + baking set + sprinkles
"Tiger comes to Tea" book + soft toy
"Snail and the Whale" book + soft toy
Crayons, drawing paper, stickers.

Baby annabel, orchard games, kids charades, scooter, cute pyjamas, bath bombs...

If you don't know what she likes I think the best generic gifts are:

Books
Craft stuff
Orchard toys board games.

That's stuff that almost everyone will like, doesn't take up a huge amount of space and can be easily either used up or passed on if not suitable for any reason. And not too pricey.

Marble run is also great, but I would avoid if birthday girl has younger sibling because of the choke hazard.

Anything barbie or the our generation dolls here
