Ingrown hair. Pop it

Brigittebidet · 30/07/2021 17:59

Get it moved to "sporners corner". They'll be all over you there, like ummm, a rash.

Brigittebidet · 30/07/2021 18:01

Actually, joking aside, that looks nasty - I don't like the ring around it, it looks infected. I would go and see a pharmacist if you can.

Ooh, looks a good'un that does. I'd have popped that without pausing for a photo Grin

dementedpixie · 30/07/2021 18:03

Needs popping for sure!

It's really sore, I'm a tad concerned as I'm immune suppressed. Dh is begging me to pop it.

Come on, you know the rules! Pop it and then post a photo…

ShadowInVain · 30/07/2021 18:06

Come on over to Sporner Corner. Grin

It does look infected, in all seriousness - you may need antibiotics so I'd get a second opinion from the pharmacy before messing with it.

Brigittebidet · 31/07/2021 23:00

@Cravey - how is it today?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 31/07/2021 23:04

Hot flannel, hot as you can stand. Keep doing it.

And film it

Cherrysoup · 31/07/2021 23:07

Sterilised needle. It’s the only thing that will relieve it. You may as well film it. (Just saying )

careerchangeperhaps · 31/07/2021 23:28

Not sure what it is but that red ring around it shows the infection could be spreading. Draw a line around the red area with a biro so you can see if it continues to spread. Given your immune issues, I'd probably call 111 for advice as you may need antibiotics.

MistySkiesAfterRain · 31/07/2021 23:35

You might need antibiotics, cellulitus is the concern.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 31/07/2021 23:36

Get it popped and whack some TCP on it, it'll be grand. If it's not then see GP.

SingingWaffleDoggy · 31/07/2021 23:39

I’d pop it in case there’s a splinter or sting or something in there that’ll come out with the pus. If whatever it is is still in there it’ll only get worse.
But I suppose the official line should be to get it checked as it is a bit red around and you say you’re immunosuppressed. Like others have said, draw a line around the redness to see if it’s spreading.

Sacreblue · 31/07/2021 23:41

If you rule out anything more serious and are just dressing it I recommend those silver plaster things.

I had a an actually quite deep hole in my leg but tried one as a last resort before GP and it worked to heal it up.

Yep was infection. After a trip to a and e it's been drained and I've got antibiotics. It's still sore as hell. I'm immune suppressed so it took hold fast. Feeling better in myself. I asked if I could film it was told a very firm no 😅
