Hi I’m looking to stay in a 5 star hotel, it would just be for one night in london, any experience, is it worth the money ?

Yes its worth it if you want luxury, how much so you want to spend,is it for a special occasion, you might get the same luxury at a 4 star.

Just a treat for a big birthday would be solo after attending an event

It's a lot of money if you're only going to sleep there, where is the event.

I find that 5 star hotels are much more worth the money outside of London than inside.

The problem with London is that all hotel rooms are pretty small because space is at a premium, so they might be nice but they'll be nice and small. Whereas outside of London a 5-star room is usually massive and very nice.

I have just booked stay via Lastminute.com. I selected "5 star only" and the Secret Hotel option and managed to get the Hilton for a very reasonable price.

The Atheneum is nice and has a lovely view over Green Park and there are good offers on all the hotels with Hotels.com. If I could afford it I would stay at The Rosewood in Holborn, Claridges or Browns. It all depends how much luxury you want, some 4 star hotels are very comfortable and sometimes you just end up paying for facilities that you won't use.

Thanks for the tips

The Rosewood is lovely and worth the money.

I always stay in a hotel in Lincolns Inn but pass The Rosewood and it always looks so inviting

I would also check out at The Ned if you want a beautiful hotel in central London.
