If you had a Huawei phone

But changed, what do you have now?
I love the camera on my p30 but the phone itself is just rubbish. The quality of the Huawei phones has really deteriorated I think.
I'm not interested in an Apple. I'm due a change on my contract so I can look at other phones available from O2 or I'm happy to buy the phone if its not too dear and get sim only.
Any suggestions or recommendations most welcome. Thank you

Look at the camera reviews on GSMArena. I find them really helpful. You can also narrow it down by other aspects of the phone that you do like, such as screen/handset size, battery life, etc.

I had the huawei until the yanks stopped Google play working 9n it. Shame as was a great phone and camera until then. I currently have a Google pixel, phone is good, camera is standard though. Currently browsing for my next phone

@caughtinanet

I was thinking about getting a huawei for the camera, what exactly is bad about the phone please
No Google play store which really restricts what apps you can get, virtually makes the phone a brick

@ThePlantsitter

I've got a Google pixel and the battery life is absolutely shite. Have I got a dud one?
Maybe, I have 4a5g battery lasts me all day, I'm currently got 68% and been on the phone solid since 6pm

My ds ( adult) had a Huawei , the battery swelled and it wasn’t very old at all , he went back to Samsung .

Which models don't have Google play store? Is that a new thing?

Mine does plus it has the other Google apps I'd want eg my photos are automatically uploaded to the cloud and saved in Google photos.

Love Huawei phones. The worst phone I ever had was a iPhone. I had a Samsung galaxy which lasted 3 years and a fair amount of battering. The best have been the Huawei phones I have had. Brilliant camera on them.

Could have written this post myself!

Giogle Play still runs on mine and never had any issues with dooading or running apps. I was worried about that, but that turned out completely unfpunded. Perhaps because my phone is a few years old now?

I actually have a Google play store on mine. The problems I've been having have been the freezing, the battery and sound.
I had a p20 for years until it went for a swim. I loved it. Hadn't a single problem with it. Got a replacement one on my insurance last year and the first one stopped completely after 2 weeks, the second died after 6 months, resurrected and the battery was absolutely awful.
Got a p30 then, almost new, from DH who decided he no longer wanted a Huawei and moved to Apple so I took it. The battery is awful, the sound is starting to go, it constantly freezes. I really loved the Huaweis but the quality has definitely dipped. The camera though is exceptionally good.
So many androids out there.
Thank you for the suggestions. I'll look at them all.

Is that possibly actual phone you have rather than the P30 generally - are those common problems? Mine never freezes and the battery certainly lasts all day even if I'm on it for several hours in the evening and have used the sat nav for a while in the day. Never noticed the sound is poor. I've had it for 2 years. I also have the play store, do newer ones not? (know it was a pp not op who said that)

Another vote for Motorola. I have a G7 Power which is a cheap one that's now a couple of years old and does what I want, but I'm not particularly discerning.

DP has the top range G8, from last year, but that was still only £250, which is nothing compared with how much some of the expensive brands like Samsung or Apple cost.

Also second the recommendation for GSM Arena for comparing specs.
