Underwhelmed by lash lift

Just that really. Is it really just this shit?
£50 down the drain 😫

Does anyone have a lift that they’re happy with? Not sure whether to complain or just accept the process is a bit shit.

I thought mine was great when I had it but I think it was on offer at 35 quid. No way do I think 50 is worth it and considering they need doing fairly regularly I think 35 was too expensive really.

Sorry you're disappointed OP!

I bought a home lash lift kit and have had mixed results with that...

Neondisco · 30/07/2021 16:37

It's hard to say without seeing it. 50 is quite a lot I think. But it depends where you are.

It does also depend on how long your lashes are as if they aren't too long they're never going to look really long when lifted.

Heartofglass12345 · 30/07/2021 16:42

I had mine done and I loved them, she tinted them as well did you have that done? It didn't cost £50 I think it was £30. It didn't last as long as she said it would though

bigbluebus · 30/07/2021 16:47

My salon only charges £35 but I never got beyond the allergy testing so can't tell you if it is worth it or not! Was OK with the lash and brow tint - just not the chemical used for the lash lift.

Endofether · 30/07/2021 16:52

Rip off plus the dye really hurts !

Mrsjayy · 30/07/2021 16:53

I was totally meh about mine my eyelashes are really sparse so maybe you need flutterer lashes to start with Smile

Mrsjayy · 30/07/2021 16:54

I think I was £30 for lift and tint !

supermodel · 30/07/2021 16:55

I had mine done and didn’t think the results were great but that’s because my lashes are very short. I could see the difference but it was subtle.

unicornpooppoop · 30/07/2021 16:56

I do mine at home.
It's not the most comfortable thing to do but does the job

IWantAllTheDogsInTheWorld · 30/07/2021 16:57

I have mine lifted and tinted every month. The lift usually lasts about 2 weeks if I'm lucky. £25 in the southwest.

Mrsjayy · 30/07/2021 17:07

The woman who did mine also does lash extensions I'm too nervous to get though.

househuntinginthesouth · 30/07/2021 17:10

I also do mine at home-£20 kit off Amazon and you get multiple uses out of it. Definitely makes me eyes look more open/bigger. Perhaps try eyelash extensions if you want something really noticeable? About the same price depending on which type you get and you can pick thickness/length etc to suit your style.

Londontown12 · 30/07/2021 17:18

Same !! I paid £50 as well and was told my eyelashes wud look amazing !! They did not look and different!! I just just mascara same day no way was I looking like I just woke up £50 loss but never again !

SoundBar · 30/07/2021 17:38

If you get the lashes wet at all less than 24h after the treatment the curl will be lost. Steam from a boiling kettle, raindrops can do it. Absolutely do not wash your face, have a shower, use make up remover etc.!

Mine were amazing except 1 little clump of lashes where a rain drop fell on my eye while I was walking home Confused

RandomDent · 30/07/2021 17:40

I just use strip lashes now. £3 Subscribe and save from Amazon. I don’t use mascara any more either.

TheTallOakTrees · 30/07/2021 18:06

I have blonde lashes that are thick and long so they looked great when lifted and dyed. I imagine it depends on lashes colour and thickness etc

I haven't tried at home but will do now.

RosesandPumpkins · 30/07/2021 18:17

I’m put off by lash extensions because they look so false and need to be done every three weeks.

LBOCS2 · 30/07/2021 19:38

I pay £50 (outer London) and think it's worth it - I've got straight lashes which are blonde at the tips, it makes SUCH a difference. Might just need a crap job, might be that your eyelashes don't need much help?

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 30/07/2021 19:42

Good eyelash curlers with fresh pads and waterproof mascara. Lashes stay lifted and curled all day, it takes seconds in the morning and doesn’t cost £50pm.

PaperMonster · 30/07/2021 20:02

That’s a shame I have mine lifted and dyed every couple of months for about £35 and it always makes me look awake! Am way overdue having them done at the mo!!

LER83 · 30/07/2021 21:05

I love lash lifts! I pay about £35 and lasts about 6/7 weeks, I usually wait 12 weeks in between appts. Makes my lashes look really long and i don't have to wear mascara.

RosesandPumpkins · 01/08/2021 15:49

So today is the first day I’ve put make up on and actually they do look better and more open.
I just need mascara.
One eye is better than the other. I might be tempted to do it again.
Perhaps I’ll do extensions next time.

Do you have a ‘before’ photo? Maybe in comparison it looks a lot better.
