Work colleague has been outed as a sex offender after security refused to protect him as he was outed by a client to them who saw him at work it seems as though senior management all knew. He is leaving he is going to teach in China who do I report this to I’m very concerned he will groom more children possibly leaving the UK on a false passport he was not charged but struck off from teaching and it is all over the internet. I could not hear it if I did nothing then it came out at a later date please advise me

If you are rock solid certain of your facts then possibly police, leaving country to teach would - one hopes - be against terms of his licence.

Parsley1234 · 29/07/2021 22:45

I am rock solid I googled him today he is all over the internet he is leaving to teach English to Chinese students - yes the police sbd jy friend said the Chinese embassy also.

If he wasn’t charged then he doesn’t have a criminal conviction? So I’m not sure there are any legal grounds to stop him.

Parsley1234 · 30/07/2021 08:58

@PotteringAlong I know 😢 that’s what I’m worried about he encouraged children he taught to send dick pics to him grooming them but he was called out on it which then resulted in him being struck off and in the press

What makes you think he has a false passport? Police??
Do you know which school? Report direct to them? The Chinese Embassy will need to issue his Visa.

Parsley1234 · 30/07/2021 10:36

I have called the teachers board who struck him off they can’t do anything
I don’t know which school the police aren’t interested I’ve just spoken to them poor kids ♥️

I would contact the Chinese embassy in London, and make them aware of your concerns. Stick to facts and do not use emotive language, "I am concerned that a man has lied in his application to work in China. He claims to be a teacher but in fact he is prohibited from teaching in the UK due to safeguarding concerns." Include a link to the misconduct hearing outcome, that will contain the detail they need.

Thank you @O

Why would you think he’d have a false passport? They’re not exactly ten a penny! It’s awful but realistically if he’s not been convicted then surely there’s not much that can be done. Other than possibly trying to find out who will be employing him and sending them the links? It’s horrific that these people can just start nee lives to do exactly the same thing all over again.

Bizjustgotreal · 30/07/2021 12:53

If he has a police record it's highly unlikely he'll be given a Chinese work visa. I think they cross reference them.

MyDcAreMarvel · 30/07/2021 12:56

That’s very strange that the police “weren’t interested” something doesn’t add up.

Well if he did that he’ll now have a criminal conviction, which will preclude him from working abroad.

Soontobe60 · 30/07/2021 13:00

In order to reach in China you need a Z Visa. One of the things you need to obtain this visa is a current DBS. If he has been investigated for the things you state, he won’t get a clear DBS.

What was the offence, how old were the children, was he charged? All this matters. Do the internet searches about him tell you the full story?

Yes and Chinese companies where foreigners have to work with children use internet searches too. So there is no way it would have been missed. I’m guessing either that the man is lying, (or more likely) the chinese government have the full details of the case which OP doesn’t.

TheVolturi · 30/07/2021 13:05

Err, how old were the children? Really? Children are children 🙄

This.

Even if he attempts to get a tourist visa, I don't think he'd be able to get in either. Tourist visas are single entry and only for about 3 months, maybe 6? He would have to leave and return and reapply each time.

^Excellent advice.

Though if the teaching board struck him off, why was he never charged by the police?

Pepsi9090 · 30/07/2021 13:07

Hi, I taught in S Korea, they require a full DBS check as part of the visa process, I don't know if it's the same in China but worth a look?

Hopefully they do the same and he has fuck all chance of teaching there. I'd look into this, and potentially alert the Chinese embassy in London who I assume would be reviewing his visa application should he make one.

Ozanj · 30/07/2021 13:09

In the Uk a teacher can be deemed a sex offender for having a relationship with a 16 year old because they are considered to have a position of authority. In China that is not currently the case (though it may be soon, that is irrelevant right now) and the age of consent is 14 vs our 16.
notapizzaeater · 30/07/2021 13:09

Why wasn't he charged? If it's googable I'd send them a link tbh

ancientgran · 30/07/2021 13:11

Are you sure the allegations were true? Something seems odd if he was struck off but no conviction. I know in a local school a teacher was off for months because of allegations and eventually he was exonerated.

DaisyDreaming · 30/07/2021 13:11

There’s no doubt a Paedophile struck off in the uk who is moving to teach abroad will be abusing more children over there :( it’s scary how often this happens

Orf1abc · 30/07/2021 13:13

Different evidential standards. The standards board will judge the evidence on the balance of probabilities, for a criminal conviction, the CPS would need to demonstrate guilt beyond reasonable doubt. There are other considerations, but the CPS will decide whether it is in the public interest to prosecute based on the facts of the case, which we don't have.
