What do I need to do to sort out my wifi?

I have good, fast reliable broadband when devices are connected via an ethernet cable, but the Wifi is shocking. Works very intermittently and in some parts of the house not at all. I have a Wifi booster which helps for some rooms but it's still intermittent and doesn't reach all rooms even when it's good.

It seems to work reasonably well in the morning but not in the evenings. Currently DS is gaming using an ethernet cable and there's just me and my phone, so it's not over loaded. I can use WIFI in the same room as the router, but nowhere else in the house, not even the next room with the booster in it.

Is there someone I can get in to sort this out?

Is a better router rather than the ISP provider's the answer? If so, is that easy to set up?

Mine drops all the time. I switched providers, same problem. It does pick back up quicker though. I moved the router to the middle room (also have a socket there), not sure this helped though. I use mobile hotspot when its really shit, this takes some of the frustration away. I did read that trying a different router can help.
