Could this be a bull's eye rash?

Haven't noticed a tick. It's not itchy. I'm thinking it's not, because it's on my upper outer thigh and I'm waaaay past the age of wearing hot pants ShockGrin but do ticks travel?

I've not been anywhere where there are deer but will likely have brushed past some long grass growing nearby, albeit in the middle of the city...

I've had 2 tick bites, one on my bum and one on my foot, so yes they can move up your body. Both from Highlands of Scotland. I don't think mine were itchy (over 10 years ago now) and no sign of the ticks but both had a definite red spot then white ring around it then red ring around that. I just went to the GP and got a course of antibiotics which I took for a week. Worth getting it checked by a Dr if you're in doubt

Thanks @Loughrigg77. Disappointing that the buggers can move! Not very easy to see the GP at the moment so was kind of hoping it isn't...

Definitely looks like a tick bite I’m afraid

I think that looks more like just a reaction to a bite.

Thanks both. It could be just an ordinary bite but that's not how I usually react - would normally be raised, hot and itchy and somehow less symmetrical?

No clue whether to bother GP or not. Would a pharmacist know?

minor injuries walk-in ?

Indigopearl · 28/07/2021 19:35

When I had lyme my bull eye rash grew 1cm a day. Draw a ring around it and monitor the spread. Mine wasn't itchy but it was hot. I doubt a pharmacist would know. I submitted photos online to my gp and got 17 days of antibiotics.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/07/2021 19:47

Pharmacist is a good idea

MoMuntervary · 28/07/2021 21:34

Crikey @Indigopearl it's not grown since yesterday, I don't think, but the red ring has got more pronounced. I'll get the biro out and see what it looks like tomorrow.

Apparently there are a lot of horse flies around this year that are carrying infections. I've had a few horse fly bites in the last fortnight that have reacted like that. Don't remember it from previous years. I don't think that looks like a bullseye rash (they have rings) but worth asking a pharmacist for advice.

EduCated · 28/07/2021 21:45

Another vote for waving it at a pharmacist.

Carrott21 · 28/07/2021 21:47

Just a normal bite ime

BergamotandLime · 28/07/2021 21:54

Get a pharmacist to check it. Live rurally in an area with lots of ticks and remove one from one of us at least once a week and it doesn't look typical but get it checked as it's not worth risking it.

BringMeTea · 28/07/2021 21:58

Not in my opinion. DH's bullseye rash was much more distinctive.
