Testing and travelling to Majorca

We have a holiday booked to Majorca and trying to make sense of what we need to do rest wise.

It looks like we have to test 3 days before we go, 3 days before then when we get back. Is this right? Has anyone else been through this process. How much did it all cost? 2 adults fully vaccinated and 2 children 12 and 15. Did you have to isolate on return?

I think if you’re fully vaccinated you don’t need to do the test before you arrive in Majorca, just show proof of vaccination?

The Spanish entry requirements are here

www.spth.gob.es/faq?tab=2

The UK is a non EU risk country so you need proof of double jab or negative test. For PCR tests the sample is to be taken within 72 hours of your arrival in Spain. I can't remember from what age upwards this is required and actually can't find it on that page. It will be somewhere!

To return to the UK, details here

www.gov.uk/guidance/red-amber-and-green-list-rules-for-entering-england#amber-list-rules

It's very very easy to get the pre return LFT done in Mallorca. Clinics everywhere and the price is capped at €30.

If vaccinated you will also need Day 2 after return tests, if not vaccinated, quarantine for ten days and Day 2 and Day 8 tests.

Tons of providers and varying prices for the pre departure and Day 2/8 tests. A lot depends on if you want to do them at home, where you live etc. Depending on who you are flying with, you may find a discount code.

The main thing is be mindful of when you get the pre departure one done as you will need the result back before you can check in. Read reviews as some people have missed flights due to late returned test results. IMHO, if you can go to a site in person and remove the transit time for a test to get to a lab, that would give greatest peace of mind.
