I’ve found myself having to be in Darlington for 3 hours with kids in Darlington? Anyone have suggestions on what to do in the area?

How about the railway museum at Newton Aycliffe (few miles from Darlington). It’s called Locomotion. Entry is free. Flying Scotsman is due there this summer too.

Sorry I’m getting confused. It’s near Newton Aycliffe but the actual place is called Shildon.

Do you have car with you? Raby Castle?

Check out the Wynds and Yards area- little independent shops and cafes. The kids might like Andy’s Candy Bar and doughnuts from Number Eight Bakehouse
