I can’t find it either Angry

It may not be on. Rights issues mean that the NBC can only show two live events at a time. Dressage may not be one of them this korning

Discovery plus.

Mini brag. Carl Hesters head groom was one of my closest friends at school 🙂

TakeYourFinalPosition · 27/07/2021 09:26

Discovery Plus or Eurosport.

The BBC only has the rights to show two events at a time - they can flick between them, but that makes it quite frustrating to watch.

Isbobmyuncle · 27/07/2021 09:27

It looks like it’s on the iPlayer app now!

Although I just clicked on it and it’s showing the sevens rugby Hmm

Bryonyshcmyony · 27/07/2021 09:28

BBC from 9.30M apparently

NuzzleandScratch · 27/07/2021 09:28

Is Discovery Plus a channel? We have Sky, but still struggling. Can't see it on Eurosport.

It's so annoying. I fondly remember the 2012 Olympics where you could watch everything!

NuzzleandScratch · 27/07/2021 09:35

I know! But if they can only choose 2 sports at once, why rugby, which already gets so much air time?!

I know! But if they can only choose 2 sports at once, why rugby, which already gets so much air time?!

Because more people are likely to want to watch it presumably?

BadlydoneHelen · 27/07/2021 09:44

Oh my quote bolding disappeared sorry!

EastWestWhosBest · 27/07/2021 09:45

The BBC didn’t get the full rights to show the olympics.
You need to get discovery. If you have a smart tv then you should be able to get the app. It costs £5 a month.

Rugby is on all year round, though. They really should concentrate on some of the lesser-known sports for a change. I love dressage. I just saw surfing on the red button!
Katshouldnotswim · 27/07/2021 09:53

Fingers crossed 🤞🏻

BadlydoneHelen · 27/07/2021 09:56

I think the BBC are in a really difficult position with the TV rights they've got- if they focus on minority sports to give them much needed airtime they risk alienating their majority audience who want to see 7s rugby which actually isn't on tv that much. Add to that trying to show GB competitors when competing plus big worldwide stars like Biles for example and it must be a nightmare. I think we were all spoilt by the multi channel streams last time but it's the harsh reality of commerce driven TV rights- as per the scheduling of events to suit US time zones!

Just watching the dressage on Eurosport. How on earth do you train a horse to do dressage? Love horses but hardly ever been on one , so maybe a really stupid question.

AndthreeTomsaredancing · 27/07/2021 11:16

It's on Eurosport, you have to go to the Olympics bit and then there are loads of live events

ItsSnowJokes · 27/07/2021 11:16

Discovery + is available free for 6 months to Vodafone users. We have signed up that way for it. Just remember to cancel at the 6 months mark.

MagicSummer · 27/07/2021 11:29

Yes - just signed up for Discovery+. The dressage is amazing!

Andante57 · 27/07/2021 11:34

Does anyone remember a thread on mn during the 2012 London Olympics in which a poster derided the ‘dancing horses’ and said how ridiculous it all was etc.
The discussion became quite…..er….heated.
Anyway, best of luck to Carl and both Charlottes - you and your horses are absolute stars.
