Sweaty smelling clothes

I've just been ironing and one of my favourite T-shirts really smells. What can I put on it to wash it and get rid of the stinky smell?

Soak it in water and bicarbonate of soda, then wash in the machine (I add more bicarb!) with your normal laundry detergent. This gets my sweaty gym stuff smelling fresher.
