Small thank you gifts for NHS ward staff?

I'm fairly skint at the moment but I would like to give some small thank you token to the nhs ward team that have been looking after my elderly mum.

I don't know everyone who has been involved in her care or even how many people. Other than a tub of chocolates, please hit me with some suggestions ....

Biscuits, cake, tea bags. Anything that they can share together on a break.

Davros · 27/07/2021 00:10

Agreed, biscuits and tea bags

AddsVsGeorgs · 27/07/2021 00:12

Nice biscuits

BumbleFlump · 27/07/2021 00:17

Following for ideas, I need to do the same 😃

MissConductUS · 27/07/2021 00:19

A packet of good quality black pens.

HandforthParishCouncilClerk · 27/07/2021 00:22

A pack of biros - we go MAD for biros!

Redsquirrel5 · 27/07/2021 00:24

Biscuits or cake for coffee break. I took some baklava when my niece was extremely ill, they saved her life. They loved them.

Teaseall · 27/07/2021 00:36

Ok, so biscuitsBiscuit, cake Cake, teabags Cake... I presume it would be good to include some gluten free goodies for those that are. Biros & pens in general ... what about some mini hand creams or similar? Or is tha5 too personal?

Hand creams can't be shared for infection control reasons.

sherlockhomeless · 27/07/2021 00:54

PENS!

JulesRimetStillGleaming · 27/07/2021 01:10

Having just had to look this up, make sure the value is clearly under £25 or it needs to be declared and can't be accepted.

Hairyfairy01 · 27/07/2021 01:20

Black pens

MissConductUS · 27/07/2021 01:29

I think that some clever American nurse suggested black pens up thread. 😁

I like the Pilot roller balls myself.

Boopeedoop · 27/07/2021 01:32

Nice coffee sachets.

StudentPurse · 27/07/2021 07:17

Biscuits, cakes, a fruit basket? A nice hand cream as well, to the PP poster who said hand creams can’t be shared I’ve just come off a Covid ward (I’m a student nurse) and they have loads of (pump action) hand creams floating around for the staff to use so the rules must be different depending on the trust. A nice thank you card or an email to pals just to compliment the ward would be greatly received as well

StudentPurse · 27/07/2021 07:17

Oh yes and pens!

MotherWol · 27/07/2021 07:31

I got a box of biscuits for the ward staff when my daughter was in ICU. You can get catering boxes of individually wrapped biscuits on Amazon which are perfect for staff rooms: www.amazon.co.uk/Border-Biscuits-48-box/dp/B00F6YL0S6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3_mod_primary_new?dchild=1&sbo=RZvfv%2F%2FHxDF%2BO5021pAnSA%3D%3D&keywords=wrapped+biscuits&sprefix=wrapped+&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&qid=1627367457&sr=8-3

You can get Krispy Kreme doughnuts delivered nowadays, I think they would go down very well!
