How to get hairspray off glasses?

Without taking off the anti glare coating or damaging the lens?

I’ve tried fairy liquid. Google says nail polish remover….has anyone actually tried this and not wrecked their glasses?

Shampoo & hot soapy water?
Can’t believe fairy never worked.
Are you sure the hairspray is still on there and it isn’t spots you are seeing because the hairspray has eaten into the anti reflective coating on the lenses?

Please don’t use nail polish remover!

Try glasses cleaning wipes (box of 50 about £2 in Wilko). Then take them to your optician if that doesn’t work.

Gentle hot soapy water should be fine.

I regularly have to get spray paint off my smart phone screen. The sooner you start, the easier. The more time something is left to adhere to something else, the harder it is.

As long as you keep it off the frame, so use dampened tissue rather than putting it straight on, anything alcohol based should get it off, this is often what we use in the opticians unless its a particular frame material. At the moment most people have alcohol based hand gel around.
If you are unsure I'm sure the optician you got them from would give them a proper clean if you ask. You will probably have to wait outside while they do it though.

Warm water should do it, I'd never think of putting anything mentioned above on my actual hair!

Hair spray would have already effected the anti glare coating I expect and that’s is why you can’t get the specs clean. Take your specs off before applying hairspray.

Bingo. Been to the optician today and the coating is peeling off so had to buy new glasses!
