Can't stop thinking about this poor girl [CONTENT WARNING for murder and child sex abuse]

A piece of shit man murders a child and the girl's mother immediately falls in with helping him conceal her daughter's death. I can't get my head round how disgusting both adults are. Poor, poor Bernadette.

How can we protect teenage girls living in such abusive homes?

Heartbreaking. The stepfather was evil enough but for her mother to not support her when she came to her for help is horrendous.

Her diary entry is incredibly sad.

Don’t most schools have a counsellor for children to talk to? Perhaps if her own mother didn’t believe her she felt a stranger wouldn’t either?

This is absolutely heartbreaking. Sadly my mother reacted very similarly when I told her age 6 what my step dad was doing. I do have a very close relationship with her now though and have had to deal with the fact she did know but wouldn't deal with it. She did leave him eventually though so I guess that's something. It damaged me way into my 40s. This poor poor child needed someone and there was no one. I hope they both rot.

Sorry didnt mean to detract from the post. Obviously I wasn't killed but I was beaten and locked in cupboards at night for a few years. My heart absolutely breaks for these children 💔
