Extended rear facing car seat question

Hi all
I posted last night in the car seat page but it is pretty quiet and i could do with some thoughts.

For those in the know, can anyone give me their opinion on the axkid minikid vs the axkid one..

Money is not really a concern here. In terms of the one, we like the ease of the isofix, ability to recline in position.. if we are ever able to go on long euro hols again... Plus it seems a bit neater than the minikid.

Aside from price and the 2kg lighter limit (my wee one is quite light so that shouldn't affect is too much) the only issue i have is that it is untested tech in terms of sales/how the seat performs as it ages etc. Is this a valid concern or am i being neurotic? The minikid used tried and tested technology

Any thoughts on either model?

Cheers

I have an Axkid Minikid and I like it. Probably wouldn't pay the extra for the One as it seems extortionate to me.

Thanks. The one is eye watering isn't it! How do you find the tethering/changing cars?

Does anyone have any experience of the one? Should i be worried about taking isofix to its limits? Are there any down sides other than price to the one?

I'd stick with the Minikid I think - as you say, it's been around for a while, whereas the One is still very new. I don't think the extra price is justified tbh. I've never found the tethers a problem, you can get extra sets to go in additional vehicles. I have the Minikid as a demo seat and love it!

We don't need to change our Minikid between cars. I'm a new driver and have it in my car for my nearly 5 year old and he now uses a HBB in our other car. It makes me feel much more confident going out with him knowing he is in the Minikid.

I don't have either, but just wanted to say that after some initial cursing I now find switching the Britax Maxway with tethers fairly simple.

Yeah, i am a bit worries about the newness of the seat... Though i guess it has been tested rigorously and some of the non erf will be at the top of the isofix limit too... So maybe its not an issue really.

I can see cases where i might need to get different cars say one way then another csr back in the lifetime of this seat, so the tethers could prove annoying... Plus 3/4 tethers is closing the cost gap between tje seats..!

What do you mean you use the minikid as a demo? Do you work in this field?

Ha! I'm sure there will be lots of cursing!
