Hi everyone I am going to be swapping from days to nights and wondering how do I prepare my body for this. I haven't done night work for a long time now and I already am a light sleeper. These will be 12 hour shifts and I will be doing 3 a week. When would the best time to eat dinner etc

i use to try and be fairly busy from 8-11 am. prep supper, laundry, shop for the following day clean etc.
then at noon i would go for a "nap" ear plugs, bathroom fan on, black out blinds etc. and would inevitably wake about 4-5 pm and serve as well as eat supper.
i packed food to eat at work (as healthy as humanly possible).
when i came home in the am i would eat as light a meal as possible something simple. tidy up the house (3 kids) so dishes and again prep supper. then sleep from say 9-5 pm.

Thankyou, some great ideas there. I will take something light to eat at work when on nights

I work 2 12 hour days and then 2 12 hour nights. I found asking everyone I work with for tips is helpful. I really enjoy going for a small 10 minute walk after work helps as I get some fresh air and calm down before I try to sleep. Berroca at 1am is good too, energy but it's not sugar or caffeine and you will be able to sleep later.
