Wisdom tooth really really hurts

My top right wisdom tooth has started to come through and it’s really hurting. I can feel abit of the tooth right next to one but the gum that’s over the rest of it is SO painful. If I touch it with my tongue or finger I think I can feel the tooth under the gum.

I think I need it out but I’m so scared 😭

Wisdom teeth can be very sore when they are erupting. Upper wisdom teeth don't often need to come out unless they are in an unfavourable position, so dont worry about that. Keep the area nice and clean with your toothbrush (dont avoid it because its sore!) and you can rinse with warm salt water as well to make sure theres no gum infection.

I've had 3 of my wisdom teeth out. One cracked and was incredibly painful. One developed a cavity but my dentist said not much point in filling it so took it out there and then. And the last one sounded like yours, came though painfully and again, as I didn't need it the dentist took it out.
I haven't had the 4th one come through and hopefully won't!
I really would go and see the dentist initially and see what they say.
If it helps having mine out really wasn't at all painful and fairly quick.

Table salt, warm water, mix in a glass and stir then swill around the tooth in question

Short term fix but works wonders for a few hours

Thanks all. It’s so so painful. I had an X-ray last year and they said it wouldn’t come through but they also said that about the one on the other side and that’s through now. I remember that being this painful. Not sure if I need antibiotics as the gum feels hot and tender. 😩
