Recruiter wants to call me to discuss my interview - is this a bad sign?

I had an interview which finished around two hours ago. I have just seen I have an email from the company recruiter who arranged my interview (but was not in the interview) wants to arrange a call to "discuss the interview".

I'm unable to schedule a call until later this afternoon so I'm feeling nervous and thinking it's to give me bad news if it's a scheduled call?

When I have received job offers in the past they have been spontaneous/unscheduled phone calls.

Or is it just some recruitment feedback/exercise all interviewees go through?

Unless you did something absolutely mad I'd guess it's just a feedback/more information needed phone call.

Bluntness100 · 26/07/2021 13:38

This quickly I’d assume they jist wish to know how it went.

HollowTalk · 26/07/2021 13:38

I wouldn't see it as bad news. Best of luck!

They might have another candidate they want to put forward for the job, but want to know how your interview went first.

MintLeaves12 · 26/07/2021 13:50

Standard recruitment practise to see how it went

HGC2 · 26/07/2021 13:52

They want to hear your side of how it went before the company call, I used to do this when I was a recruiter

bakingdemon · 26/07/2021 13:53

I've always spoken to my recruiters soon after an interview. Usually they want to know how it went and if, having met folks from the company, you still want the job.

dontgobaconmyheart · 26/07/2021 14:00

No just bog standard in my experience. They do it after all of them as far as I'm aware, to ask you how it went, any issues, your own interest in the role having interviewed. Just prepping themselves before they call the client I assume.

MangoBiscuit · 26/07/2021 14:03

Every time I've gone through an agency, they call me before the interview to see if everything is in hand, if I need anything else, and to remind me to call them as soon as I'm done and let them know how it went.

They want to know any details, one so they can chase the company if I'm keen on the role, and second so that if I don't get it, or I decline, then they can give their next candidate a better chance. Totally normal. They just want to make sure one of theirs gets the job.

Highly doubtful. If they had another candidate they’d habe fielded them.
DerAlteMann · 26/07/2021 16:05

Standard practice with every job agency I've used.

GreyhoundG1rl · 26/07/2021 16:07

Perfectly standard.
