I haven’t seen another thread which is surprising.

I am absolutely loving it. Adam Peaty is amazing.

Yes, just watched the diving this morning. They were amazing! So pleased for Tom Daley you could see it means the world to him. Ds is watching anything and everything and giving us a running commentary. He’s only 8 this is the first one he’s really watched.

Yes me! I get emotional every time anyone wins anything but especially Team GB... hoping it’s not just me!

PumpkinWitch · 26/07/2021 10:23

I also watched the diving this morning. I am amazed that anyone can do that at all. The commentator kept saying oh they will be disappointed with that and I was like really that was so good. The perfect dive Tom and Matt did was genuinely amazing.

Thank you.

Are a lot of the events on different channels this year? I am confused.

I've recorded it from 10.30 on last night and will watch it all day:) loving it. The triathlon is crazy though, false start and penalties.

Nesbo · 26/07/2021 10:34

Discovery paid about £900 million to get the European TV rights from the organisers so that it could put them on its subscription service and make people pay to watch.

Sadly that means there isn’t as much available on public service tv, the BBC are restricted in what they can show.

eosmum · 26/07/2021 10:35

Also love the new sports, skateboarding and 3v3 basketball. Can't find any weightlifting though, so that's disappointing.

Mirrorxx · 26/07/2021 10:35

I stayed up to watch the men’s triathlon last night. Shocking start but very boring bike section

Warmduscher · 26/07/2021 10:38

It’s a shame some of the news outlets are reporting about “Tom Daley’s gold medal” when actually he was one of two, the other of whom is at his first Olympics. And always Tom Daly’s name first.

I guess because he is also a celebrity he is the more newsworthy one.

Very understated coverage of our amazing mountain biking gold medal too.

misscockerspaniel · 26/07/2021 10:53

I am loving the skateboarding but is it concrete that the skateboarders are falling onto?

newnortherner111 · 26/07/2021 11:09

Seen bits, was bored with the women's football though it was a 'win is a win', mountain biking looked interesting, women's road race disappointing because the Dutch competitor I met a few years ago did not do well, and neither did Lizzie Deignan.
